Paris luthier Pierre René Lacote (c1785-c1868) - is considered to be the biggest name in early nineteenth century guitar luthierie. He made instruments for leading players of the period: Sor, Coste, Carulli, Carcassi and Aguado.

This particular guitar is very much a 'top model', with beautiful details and features such as the zigzag pearl rosette and 6-ply purfing to the back and sides. The nut and saddle are also pearl and then there is the stunning satinwood back and sides!

The instrument has a fine history - Ex Jim Forderer collection and previously owned by Guy Horn of the Carmel Guitar Society in the States.

The guitar is all original but with some well made repairs to the top, back and head. Structurally very sound. The neck is straight and the frets excellent. Any professional check is always recommended.

Sound wise, this little guitar has that particular old warm glow tone, with fine balance and sustain. It is strung with the Pepe Romero/La Bella 19th century strings.

The instrument comes with a made to measure Kingham hard case. A profesional musical  instument and collectors guitar to be cherished.
