Lester DeVoe (1992)

JUST SOLD £5995 Lester DeVoe began playing guitar at an early age in the 1970's. He was inspired by his teacher and his teachers guitar - a 1924 Santos Hernandez! After a long search, he failed to find a guitar with equal response of the Santos and so decided to build his own. Today, De Voe is considered one of the finest luthiers and his flamenco guitars have been played by the greats: Paco de Lucia, Vincente Amigo, Sabicas, Ramon Sanchez and Antonio Rey. He has now been making for 30 years. A new flamenco guitar is 12500 US dollars.

This particular flamenco guitar was ordered and imported to the UK in 1992. There is full documentation.

The first thing one notices is the huge open sound that explodes from the guitar! It is easy to play and is sensitive to touch in all registers.

This guitar has been little played and is in exceptional condition with no bangs or scrathes. The pegs are a joy - not a pain.

Must be seen and tried to be believed.
