Tom and Peter Peterson (1979)

Tom and Peter Peterson (1979)

Harald Peterson from Denmark moved to England in the 1950’s. He became well known building guitars for Len Williams in the Spanish Guitar Centre London. Son John Williams played Peterson guitars and you can get a good idea of the sound world Harald sadly died in 1969 but his sons Tom and Peter carried on construction well into the 1980’s and this guitar is one of those. It a top ‘C’ model using the best quality woods and described as a ‘Concert Guitar’.

Without doubt this guitar has a wonderfully mature spruce tone and it is especially easy to play and responds with low tension strings. The neck and action are spot on and do not seem to have ever moved. However, age has taken its toll on the condition and it is no oil painting. There is a repaired crack to the top and numerous scars. The back and sides are in very good condition. So, this is for a serious player wanting the best sound for the least cost due to condition. The frets have been re-crowned with a new set up and saddle. A joy to play such a musical instrument. A fine concert guitar at an affordable price.
