A rare chance to own a Rubio/Fischer workshop guitar, signed by David Rubio and stamped Paul Fischer MCMLXXI. A point of history when the most famous British luthier of the time shared his workshop with the very best up and coming luthiers, later famous in their own right. Fischer joined in 1969, so this guitar was two years into the collaboration. Note - not all workshop guitars were actually signed by David Rubio, mostly just showing a label. A fine investment as well as a top class musical instrument.
The guitar is in excellent original condition, especially consdering it is more than half a century old. Only minor marks and some button ware to the polish on the back. The vine leaves rosette is stunning as is the quality of the woods chosen. It has had two owners from new, the last since 2016. It comes with the original letter of sale from Duns Tew.
To be honest, this is about as good as it gets sound wise for a spruce bel canto, long sustain and perfectly balanced tone. The guitar is easy to play being a rare 650mm example and projects effortlessly. You must come and try it…
